What is an Invasive Plant?

Invasive Plants are defined by the United States Department of Agriculture per Executive Order 13112 and affirmed by US Executive Order 13751 as any 

  1. Non-native (or alien) to the ecosystem under consideration; and,
  2. Whose introduction causes or is likely to cause economic or environmental harm or harm to human health. 

Per Executive Order 13112 each state is tasked with creating an Invasive Plant Council. Each Invasive Plant Council is tasked with creating and updating a list of invasive plants for that state. To view your states invasive plant list please click your state below:
